Initial Impression
This backyard and client were unique in every way. The client travels with the Rolling Stones and his life is all about rock n roll. The first time I visited their property, the vibrant colors of their artwork in the home illuminated the atmosphere with a unique energy that I have rarely experienced. After further exploration of the space, I became aware of the potential for a truly magnificent landscape design. The client had already chosen a company to work with but when I mentioned my idea for a guitar-shaped patio water feature it was over, the client couldn’t think of anything else. I love to bring the clients’ passion to life. This was an opportunity to create something very unique.

The Plan
In the case of this rock and roll themed backyard, we started by discussing the client’s art preferences – vibrant colors and edgy shapes – and then discussed with them rock and roll features such as a guitar pick turf area, a phoenix-shaped fire pit, a circular barbeque and large water feature shaped like a guitar. We came up with so many amazing ideas we had a hard time deciding which ones to use.
When the construction phase began, the team worked diligently to bring all these elements together in order to create a truly unique backyard. They paid special attention to details such as adding color changing bistro lights, lights in the travertine leading up to the house, and up lights on the guitar which made it look like an actual musical instrument floating in midair. Overall we achieved our goal of turning this client’s dreams into reality by taking their vision from concept to completion.

How We Helped
Our client wanted an outdoor space that reflected his personality that he cold enjoy with family and friends. We constructed a circular barbeque as the centerpiece and added in a large guitar water feature that created an incredible visual effect with its bright colors and intricate detailing. We then added several light fixtures throughout including color-changing bistro lights, lights in the travertine leading up to the house, and up lights on the guitar for extra drama. Finally, we carefully crafted each element with attention to detail to match my client’s personality perfectly.
When my client saw his finished backyard for the first time, he was absolutely ecstatic – it far exceeded his expectations! When he had his family over for their first visit they were amazed at how authentic and true-to-life we were able to make it look. We are proud of all our hard work and pleased that we could bring our clients’ dream of a rock & roll themed backyard to life!
